New Moon in Capricorn

On Monday December 30th, 2024, we have this months New Moon happening in Capricorn. New Moons are a time to set new intentions as they signal a time of new beginnings and the start of new cycles. During this Capricorn new moon, we are being invited to reflect on our long-term goals and on the things we want to accomplish next year. Capricorn is all about discipline, commitment, and responsibility, and understands the patience required to accomplish those long-term goals.

Imagine that you are climbing a mountain towards your long-term goals over the course of the next 6 months. While we are each climbing our own mountain, it’s important to make sure you’re well equipped for your journey ahead. Are you prepared for a potentially long journey? What do you have to pack so you can be prepared? What helps you to mentally/emotionally prepare? Do you have all of the tools or resources you might need? Why is it you want to climb this particular mountain? What makes it worth the climb?

As any climber knows, it’s not just about “getting to the top” (although it does feel good to accomplish), but it’s also about the views you see on your hike, enjoying the scenery & fresh air, the necessary moments of rest to catch your breath, the company you keep, and the things you learn about yourself along the way.

This new moon is sextile Saturn, giving our intentions grounded, supportive energy. Capricorn is all about tangible results and bringing things down from the mental sphere into physical reality, so really try to figure out what you want to build for yourself, and then plot out those action steps that it will take to get to where you want to be. Remember you are the one responsible for creating the life you want, so show up for yourself and do the damn thing!
